Alessandro Falco (b. 1986) is a documentary photographer based in the Brazilian Amazon. His work focuses on the social and environmental conflicts shaping the Amazon and its communities, with particular attention to land, climate and cultural change.
His photographs from the region have been published by leading international outlets including National Geographic, The Washington Post, The Financial Times, The Guardian, Bloomberg, Die Zeit, Der Spiegel and Folha de S.Paulo, among others.
In 2025, he contributed to The New York Times with a series of major stories, resulting in two front-page cover stories addressing energy inequality in the Amazon and pesticide-related suicide in Suriname.
He lives in Belém do Pará, at the mouth of the Amazon River.
